Disney Travel Tips

Before you plan your Disney Vacation, do plenty of research. Abundant information is available through online websites and travel portals. Know your vacation goals and activities you and your family would like to pursue.

Planning

Do not be caught off guard without a clear itinerary. Keeping an entire family organized can be the means to a much more enjoyable vacation. Before you book your Disney vacation, make sure your family members have had the chance to contribute input to the travel plans. This way everyone’s interests are taken into account.

If you are combining a Disney vacation with other travel and accommodations try to make reservations for rental homes or condos, hotels, rental cars and the like.

Disney’s theme parks and cruises can offer countless opportunities for enjoyment and adventure; however, they can also become quickly overwhelming without a sense of direction. Plan your vacation’s schedule. What do you want to see? When? How? Allow time for spontaneity, but try to stick to a general plan.

Packing

Depending on what Disney destination you choose, pack accordingly. Know beforehand what the forecasted weather might be. If you are flying, make sure children each have a small backpack with a few games and books, along with a change of underwear and toothbrush in case luggage gets lost. You might also pack them a few light snacks and portable juices.

For hot and sunny climates or a trip that includes the beach, do not forget bathing suits, sun block and sunglasses for everyone. One bad sun burn can ruin an entire vacation. Forgetting such necessities can put quite a dent in your pocketbook, too, if you have to find replacements.

If you have chosen to travel to a Disney resort abroad, it is even more critical to be aware of weather conditions within the country you will be visiting. Do not forget passports and current identification. Make sure to pack any prescription medications you or your family may need.

Familiarize Yourself with Your Destination

Know ahead of time how you will get from place to place. Need a rental car? Have the reservation in advance. Most car rental websites make it very convenient to reserve any size vehicle.

You might want to purchase resort tickets in advance, too. You can do this online through Disney websites and other ticket carriers. There are many different options available for tickets and pricing. For tickets to attractions abroad, check with your travel agent first.
